Tennessee Truck Driving School now WIA approved

3/31/2011

Tennessee Truck Driving School is proud to announce that we are now WIA approved.

What is WIA...

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is the nation’s principal workforce development legislation, providing funds to address the employment and training needs of dislocated workers, and low income adults and youth.

The funding for WIA comes from the Federal Department of Labor.

WIA provides support to participants to increase their education, training, employment, earnings and job retention. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of the workforce, reduce welfare

dependency, and enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the nation.

So if you have considered getting your Class A CDL and starting a new career in the trucking industry, WIA is another option to help those in need that need retraining to enter the workforce.

If you are looking forward to getting back to work but you need the assistance to gain the training required to do so, contact your local Career Center and find out if you are qualified.
